Meet Dave

Dave has been in the Hospitality industry for 10 years. At a young age, his love for food had him challenging his brother to eat widgity grubs, making mud pies that resembled something out of a culinary handbook and experimenting with flavours like beetroot and vegemite on toast.
Fast forward 12 years and Dave found himself on the Gold coast, as an apprentice chef under some of the hardest chefs on Main Beach’s Tedder Avenue and Marina Mirage. Four years of hard work and he was officially trade qualified, working for Conrad Jupiter’s in the signature restaurant Charters Towers.
Stepping out of the chefing trade, Dave worked his way up the Front of house ladder, in management for one of the Gold Coast’s busiest cafes. Coffee became his passion and after quite a few intravenous drip’s, Dave now has 80% of his blood transfused with coffee…..
No, really, after averaging around 700 espresso based coffee’s a day and working 85+ hrs a week, Dave really lives for making the perfect cup of coffee every time.
Fast forward again and Dave owns and manages Star Cafe in downtown Toowoomba. The pace has slowed but the coffees continue to get better……
So what does Dave do for fun? Drink coffee at other people’s espresso bars of course!! (And other not so fun stuff like Rock Climbing, Wakeboarding and 4×4ing…)
